Sounds Right: Resources for Inclusive Music Making reclaims music’s original, universal role as a form of shared understanding and emotional connection. Drawing on the pioneering Sounds of Intent framework, this book offers practical strategies, creative ideas and ready-to-use materials for teachers, therapists, and facilitators who want to make music accessible to learners of all abilities – including those with learning disabilities or complex needs.
Developed with Trinity College London Press, the Sounds Right resources align with Trinity’s Awards and Certificates in Musical Development: the first nationally regulated qualifications to recognise music as a continuum, from early communication to artistic expression.
Celebrating the idea that everyone is musical, this book provides musical projects centred around original pieces of music which enable learners of all levels of musical ability to work together, complemented with digital audio files that can be downloaded and activated by any form of accessible switching device, including gesture-recognition technology, touchscreens and eye-gaze systems.
